Howdy neighbors
Here at our little California cottage, it is too dark to take photographs inside. So I take them on the front porch. I squat, I bend, I hold my breath, I huff and puff, I swear . . . much to the amusement of the folks in the apartment building next door and, occasionally, the mailman. But I just realized that I feel more confident about my semi-public photo shoots if I am sort of dressed up. Like, "That's right, I'm busting it out over here on my porch. I'm a photographer." So I gussied up a bit yesterday. Me voilĂ !
dress || Banana Republic, thrifted
shoes || hand-me-downs
belt || thrifted
pin || 1920s pot metal, rhinestone and enamel bird brooch
ring || 1920s sterling filigree, enamel and glass ring (my new favorite ring)
P.S. Isn't it kind of crazy that the enamel on the pin and the ring match?

You look so pretty Duff!
And that ring... :O
ahh the enamel on that ring is exquisite! And I know what you mean about shooting outside in front of everyone. Posing in front of the camera isn't so fun when people stop to watch... :)
I love the new look of your blog! (And the outfit!)
Ha! Yes, this: "That's right, I'm busting it out over here on my porch. I'm a photographer." I used to take all my photos on our deck outside, and that's pretty much what ran through my mind.
That bird pin is beautiful, but the ring is *killer*! Wow.
Well, you know this girl is in love with the ring! Sometimes I think I have blinders on and only see the rings. Ha ha
that ring...! oh me, oh my!
you look gorgeous! i love this outfit!
Hi beautiful. I miss you!
That ring! My heart is beating irregularly. I didn't think a antique ring could make me swoon like my engagement ring, but that ring is divine. Thanks for sharing.
I loooove your swallow brooch! Just beautiful! I have a similar one with pink enamel but I'm super jealous that you found one with RHINESTONES on it!
