The new one

I recently added this piece to my mourning collection. The white enamel border likely indicates that the deceased was a child or an unmarried woman. The royal blue enamel background seem almost back-lit, doesn't it? And I love how the knotted and gathered lock of hair perfectly fills the compartment. *Deep, catching breath* - this is a special one.

That is a special one! How beautiful. I love that we can tell so much about the deceased from the symbolism in mourning jewellery.

Such a beautiful and emotional piece—there’s something incredibly moving about how mourning jewellery preserves such intimate memories. The contrast of the white enamel with that deep blue background really does feel almost luminous, and the carefully placed lock of hair makes it even more personal. Truly a special addition to your collection.
