A blazer and a belly
I was getting dressed yesterday to pick up Mr. Jean Jean from the airport and I thought, "You know what would look great with this blazer? Some 80s earrings!" Then I remembered this great pair of Napier drops in the cue for next Monday's update and . . . well I just sort of ended up raiding that entire collection for a little dress up session. So here you have glimpse of a few pieces in the 10/10 update and a peek at my belly. We've officially entered the 3rd trimester my friends!

Maternity shopping, 1983
I continue to find endless entertainment in my beat up copy of the 1983 JC Penney winter catalog. This time, since I've got a little lad coming in December, I flipped right to the maternity section to check out my options. Wow - they loved their jumpers and tunics back then! Because everything for sale here is basically a glorified muumuu, you can't even really tell these ladies are pregnant. Quite the opposite of today's maternity fashion, which is all about flaunting your bump!

The no no fabric
Ah, velour. Even these hotties can't convince me that it should be used for anything other than, well, nothing. I crossed paths with some velour this week at a few flea markets and I'm still recovering.

Shape up!
It's going to be a beautiful weekend, so put on your best leotard and stretchiest stirrup pants and get ready to shape up! Whether you are doing a Jane Fonda video with a friend or just running in place at home, this gear is perfect. For best results, try listening to Blue Monday on your walk-man during your workout. Me? I'll head out for a casual jog in that wind suit (with my hair just like that) a little later today.

A dash of flash
I recently acquired a copy of the JC Penney's Fall/Winter catalog, which is now one of my most prized possessions. I don't think there is a speck of silver jewelry in the entire catalog and there actually isn't that much jewelry at all. Who needs a necklace when you're wearing a woven polyester and cotton blouse with a lace ascot? I did, however, enjoy the extensive selection of charms, as well as the "juniors" choices. I've hearted my favorites. Here's to hoping I find a vial of gold shavings in oil, or some of those amazing molded plastic sunglasses, sometime very soon. I think they would be great in the shop :)
