The ever stylish Ellen of A Wild Tea Party just posted a photo of herself wearing one of the ALOUETTE French barrettes from the shop and I had to show her off! I love checking out Ellen's outfits. She has an elegant sense of classic taste with a bit of a wild side and her accessories are always inspired. And who doesn't love to see a little Australia summer sun this time of year, even if it is on a computer screen? Thank you for the boost on this sleet-filled day, Ellen!
Do you have a customer appreciation photo for me? Maybe a Jean Jean brooch out to a party or a Jean Jean locket at the office? Please get in touch and share!

A pretty bride with vintage earrings - what more could you ask for?
The ultimate, ultimate joy for me as the owner of Jean Jean Vintage is when I get to send a piece of jewelry off to a wedding. Most recently I got to send this pair of frosted glass earrings off to a bride-to-be named Lauren (@ellednyc on Twitter). The note that she sent with her order was, "I'll be wearing these beauties for my elopement next month." As if that wasn't enough to make my day, I later learned that she was set to marry the beautiful Shani in The City of Lights! Joy overload.
When I saw their photos from Paris, first on Dear Golden's blog and then in a few follow up shots kindly sent by Lauren, I was so moved. To think that my little Jean Jean earrings - rescued from a dusty shoebox in Iowa - were a small part of their big day makes me so grateful. Grateful for vintage. Grateful for girls who wear vintage. Grateful for celebrations of love. Thank you, Lauren and Shani!

A pretty girl with cocktail rings . . . what more could you ask for?

This is Ingrid. She lives in Montreal (the city of my dreams). She gave a home to two of my favorite Jean Jean Vintage rings this past year and just sent some photos of them in action! It makes me so happy to see them enjoying life again. I asked her to write a little bio to go along with the photos and she kindly supplied a bilingual version, French/English. Merci Ingrid!
"Eternal
witchy little girl and mother of an adorable child nicknamed
« Cookie », I’ve always been haunted by the past, its stories and
objects. When I was young I used to dig around my century old house in
Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu to find some porcelain fragments and small
animal bones. It’s no wonder therefore I chose to study Anthropology at
University of Montréal to learn more about Archaeology ! The year after I
graduated, I started working in an booking agency for Québec music
artists and my music lover heart was filled! But I’ve been dreaming
about giving vintage objects a new home for a while so I started
collecting jewelry, clothing ans other accessories from the past so I
could have my own Etsy boutique, les fantômes, which I hope will be online very soon!"

A pretty girl in a necklace - what more could you ask for?
Do you remember this necklace? Well, the lovely Olivia May gave it a home and I was lucky enough to spot her wearing on Saturday at the trunk show! It pretty much made my day. Thanks Olivia!
You can see more Jean Jean Vintage jewelry in action right here and, oh, here too!

A pretty girl with a hair comb - what more could you ask for?
Do you remember this hair comb? Well, it recently found a new home with a sweet gal named Ellen. I wonder how many pretty young ladies have worn this comb over the last 100 years? I bet it has had a wonderful, glamorous life. It makes me so happy to see it out and about in the world again as part of Ellen's fabulous outfit!
On the topic of girls and Jean Jean Vintage jewels, if you have a photo of yourself wearing something from the shop I would love to see it. It would be fun to have "A pretty girl with . . . " series here on the blog. Please contact me if you have a photo to share!
P.S. Here's a lovely lady wearing a Jean Jean locket.
P.S. Those of you with long locks will enjoy Ellen's excellent hair tutorials.

A pretty girl in a locket - what more could you ask for?
There are few things that make me happier than seeing pretty ladies wearing Jean Jean Vintage jewelry. Robin shared these photos of herself on her blog, A Chow Life, last Friday and totally made my day. Robin develops pitch-perfect recipes in her Seattle kitchen and shares them, along with witty writing and beautiful photographs, on her excellent blog. If you don't already check in on her from time to time I highly suggest that you start now! I cook from her recipe archives frequently and am always super pleased with the results. My favorites? Lamb Ragout, Escarole, Sausage and White Bean Stew, and Goat Cheese Enchiladas.
