Cookie locket
I just listed a remarkable locket that is the size of a jumbo Oreo cookie. It is the biggest locket I've ever come across in my hunting, and also one of the prettiest. The name engraved on the locket is Garnett, which was a name appropriate for both boys and girls at the turn of the century in the United States. This locket - which was made by the Bliss Brother's Company of Attleboro, MA in the 1910s or 1920s - was most certainly meant for a young lady. I tried to think of all kind of reasons to keep this one - adding Garnett as a second middle name, buying a pet and naming it Garnett, moving to a town called Garnett . . . you get the idea. Can you blame me?

"Very old"
This tag was on one of the necklaces I bought on my buying trip with Lauren of Dear Golden Vintage last week. I thought you would appreciate its vagueness, as I did. Can't you just picture a sweet lady carefully penning that label? In this case, "very old" means 1930s.

Hold on to your drumsticks
In less than 24 hours, our families begin arriving for Thanksgiving. Our folks/siblings haven't been to these parts much in the time we've lived here and no one has seen our house yet, so we are really excited. Soren (my husband) and I have been busy getting things ready for the occasion. We painted our front door, tidied up the yard, got furniture for our living room, found a daybed for my office, etc. All in all, I think the house is ready to be full. Here are a few pictures I snapped yesterday - including a few of Jean Jean Vintage headquarters.

1932 wishlist | necklaces, etc.
I know your eyes might still be bulging from the ring post, but I had to share a few other jewelry selections from the 1932 Fort Dearborn Catalog. I think the Victorian Revival jewelry (aka "Jewelry in the antique") is especially fascinating.
